Our Dog Behavior Training Works

Dogs thrive when expectations are consistent, communication is clear, and the people they live with provide calm, trustworthy direction. Our training helps owners become effective leaders through structure, consistency, timing, and clear communication.

Instead of quick fixes, we teach practical skills that create lasting behavioral change at home and in everyday life. Every dog is different. We evaluate each case individually and build a training plan around the dog’s temperament, history, and the family’s goals.

Through multiple sessions, we’ll teach you how to understand your dog’s behavior, communicate effectively, and confidently guide them toward better choices.

Location

Training Sessions

Training sessions will be performed near our trainer’s home in Brookhaven, Georgia.

Clients located in Buckhead, Chamblee, North Druid Hills, and across Atlanta are welcome!

No Board and Train

We don’t offer board-and-train because your involvement is essential for lasting results.

Behavioral change comes from helping you and your dog communicate better, set clearer expectations, and build a stronger relationship.

Rates

Every dog is different! They all have variations in temperaments, histories, and needs. Some behaviors and skills will require more sessions than others.

As a result, we don’t have a standard rate.

Instead, our Atlanta dog behaviorist trainer prefers to offer a phone consultation. We will learn about your dog and its specific needs. After that, he can provide an estimate based on the number of sessions needed to meet your training goals.

Our team has 40 years of experience and a proven track record of results. Take a look at our reviews, and you will see what we mean!

Our Atlanta Dog Behaviorist Trainer

Dog Behaviorist Atlanta Bruce Allen

Bruce Allen has worked in dog behavior training since 1986.

Bruce studied under a master dog behaviorist trainer in Düsseldorf, Germany, where he obtained the SV license (Verein für Deutsche Schäferhunde). The SV sets training standards for dogs in conformation and working disciplines, including the famous Schutzhund (now known as IGP, Internationale Gebrauchshund Prüfungsordnung).

Bruce worked for the Humane Society for 15 years as the Cruelty and Abuse Director. He has made appearances on television for his expertise in dog behavior training. He appeared with veterinarian Dr. Tom Watson on “For Pet’s Sake”, filmed in Charlotte, North Carolina, and syndicated in various parts of the country. Bruce was also featured throughout a telethon for The Humane Society.

Bruce is originally from Denver, Colorado. He founded Dog Behaviorist Denver in 2021. In 2026, he decided to move to Atlanta to be closer to family, especially his two young grandchildren. Once the decision was made, Bruce began the search to find a reliable trainer to take his place, mentor him, and sell the business to him. Take a look at the reviews for Dog Behaviorist Denver to see the wonderful things clients had to say about Bruce’s training!

Bruce loves all dogs, but German Shepherds hold a special place in his heart. They are intelligent and trainable, and they are also strong, loving, and protective. He is pictured above with his dog, Mija, whom he trained as a service animal.

Another service animal is currently in training with Bruce. He gifted Connor, a beautiful English cream Golden Retriever, to his hearing-impaired grandchildren.

Dog Behavior Training Client Reviews

We have had multiple trainers tell us we had no chance of “fixing our pups issue” and to rehome our baby.

We had severe reactivity issues and deferred aggression that led to brutal fights. Bruce was very supportive and has helped us to successfully train us and our dogs to live in harmony. He offers continued communications and at a fraction of the cost. We highly recommend Bruce for your furry family training!!

We worked with Bruce and our 3 GSPs- 2 adults and one puppy. If we could give Bruce 100 stars, we would!

We started with obedience training as our adult dogs were not accepting the puppy. Then we added a big part with prenatal training- to prep doggies for baby’s arrival. What a huge difference the training did. All doggies started to interact with puppy, they didn’t pull on walks anymore, listening to commands, it made them even better doggies. With homework we got each time we saw Bruce we worked more with them at home. With specific instructions and training to prep for baby, now that baby is here we couldn’t be more happy. Doggies were set up for success with baby and are doing amazing! No concerns with baby and they are behaving so well. Our home is way more calm if you can imagine that with 3 GSPs. Can’t recommend Bruce enough!

We started working with Bruce a few months ago, with our two Goldens, after one of our Goldens bit someone and started to have leash aggression towards other dogs.

Since working with Bruce our dogs has come leaps and bounds. Bruce so clearly gives you the tools on how to take control of your dog and bring their obedience to a level you never thought was possible.

— Neriah O.

Our experience with Bruce has been nothing short of stellar.

Our adorable but feisty and nervous boxer has made significant improvement through our sessions with Bruce. He does a great job of giving you the tools and mindset to make real positive change in your dog’s life. Would highly recommend.

We could not recommend working with Bruce more!

He helped us with our golden retriever puppy who was having some resource guarding behavior. Since working with Bruce we have learned so much about obedience training and we now know how to work with our dog when she has these behaviors. Bruce has been such a support to us and we are so thankful.

— Mel T.

We worked with Bruce to help us with our greyhound and whippet, they both were reactive to other dogs, making it difficult to walk them without being on constant alert.

Bruce’s guidance and tools gave us the confidence to support our pups and develop their improved behavior. He also helped us understand the underlying rationale on the tools we learned. Both of our guys have been so much better, well behaved and more at ease. We were even able to take our Grey to a fun dog run and he was one of the most well mannered dogs! We honestly can’t believe the dramatic change in our dogs. Thank you Bruce!

— Kerry R.

We can’t thank Bruce enough for the amazing work he’s done with our pups!

Our 4-year-old maltipoo, Lucy, was showing signs of food aggression and wasn’t great at listening. She would even nip at us or other dogs when food was around. Thanks to Bruce’s guidance and training techniques, she’s like a new dog! She’s calmer, listens so much better, and the food-related aggression is under control.
We also recently adopted a high-energy 1-year-old rescue, Rambo (he’s part blue heeler), who came to us from an abusive situation so he was very reactive and hard to manage. Bruce has been incredible with him. Rambo is now learning to focus, follow commands, and is making huge progress. Bruce’s expertise and calm, confident approach has made a world of difference. We have recommended him to friends, family and co-workers. Highly suggest you work with Bruce if you need help with your dog!
